An Australian billionaire has revealed more details about his plans for the Titanic II ocean liner, which is set to sail the same transatlantic voyage as the original Titanic.

Real estate and coal magnate Clive Palmer unveiled his design plans for a replica of the Olympic-class RMS Titanic this week at Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in New York.

The replica will look and feel like the original Titanic, though Palmer will concede anachronism by allowing some modern comforts to be installed on the Titanic II, which is set to set sail in 2016.

"The area [for] passengers will be authentic, with the same design and facilities. But there will be modern things such as air conditioning and other features we are debating - such as Internet on the ship," Palmer said at a press conference, according to ABC News.

The ship will be built in China by state-owned CSC Jingling Shipyard.

The original announcement of the Titanic II came just weeks after the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the original Titanic in April 2012 after Palmer secured a deal with the Chinese shipbuilder.

After unveiling the design of the ship this week, Palmer said crew members' outfits will be inspired by the styled of 1912 and that passengers will enjoy dishes from the original menu, ABC News reported.

There will be three passenger classes, just as there were on the original ship. First class passengers will be kept separate from second and third class passengers, the report stated.

"There won't be TVs in the staterooms, though," Palmer said.

The ship's maiden voyage will sail from Southampton, England to New York. Ticket prices have not been announced, but Palmer said prospective passengers were offering up to $1 million to be on board.

Palmer was careful with his words when asked about the original ship's sinking and what makes his design different, being careful not to call it unsinkable.

"Anything will sink if you put a hole in it. I think it would be very cavalier to say it. I think people in the past have done that and lived to regret it."

Just to be safe, the Titanic II will plenty of lifeboats.
