The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata has undergone long-term review and proved satisfactory results. The gorgeous roadster has stood the test of time and has reportedly surpassed the sales of Fiat 124 Spider.
The 2016 Mazda Miata MX-5 model that was reviewed is a replica of the model that joined in the Motor Trend's 2015 Best Driver's Car competition, finishing third in the race. It has the sole engine choice for the model, the 2.0-liter engine which produces 155hp and 148 lb-ft of torque.

The 2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata is packed with Bilstein shocks, shock tower bracing and a limited-slip differential. It also comes with an aero kit, the optional BBS wheel package with Brembo brakes and a Bose sound system.
The 2,313-pound featherweight roadster's lively steering and six-speed manual gearbox have gained much applause. However, the reviewer was not satisfied with the very soft suspension of the vehicle. Nevertheless, the reviewer finds it beneficial to give the roadster its unique personality to hustle through the toughest roads or squeeze into a crazy space in a parking lot.
The roadster is dependable on road trips too. The MX-5 Miata has 39mpg Real MPG highway rating. It can also pass through the snowy roads with ease and comfort due to its Pirelli Sottozero 3s.
Furthermore, Motor Trend had another interesting road trip with testing director Kim Reynolds. Apparently, he came across Mazda's former design director Derek Jenkins while driving to the Bay Area. Kim Reynolds grabbed his chance to get some autograph from the original designer of Miata. Derek Jenkins was kind enough to print his signature on the trunk lid of the roadster.
This unplanned signature gesture with Derek Jenkins reached the office of Mazda in Southern California. It turns out, the designers and engineers of Miata also desired to leave their mark on the said roadster which included the signatures of Mazda's current design director Julien Montousse, and engineer Dave Coleman.
According to Carbuzz, total sales for the MX-5 Miata was 3,157 units from November 2016 to March 2017. Fiat 124 Spider has sold 1,582 units only from the same time frame.
