The Nintendo Switch launch day will be on March 3 worldwide. Those who have pre-ordered a unit will receive it on this day; for those who haven't, some retailers will be selling the new console on the day itself.

According to a report by Gamespot, preorders for the new console are no longer available everywhere. However, thanks to a recent report, big retailers such as Target and Best Buy have confirmed that they will have some units available on the launch date for walk-in shoppers.

Target will have Nintendo Switch stock available for their walk-in customers. This will begin at 8 AM local time on March 3. Additionally, GameStop has also announced that they will be offering some consoles for walk-in shoppers as well.

Meanwhile, Best Buy will be opening their stores at 12:01 AM via midnight release events on launch day. The retailer will have the Switch console, games, and accessories available and will even be giving out free The Legend of Zelda posters while supplies last. A complete list of the local Best Buy stores holding the event is available on their website.

There has been no word from any retailers on exactly how many units will be available during the launch day. Nintendo has already confirmed that it will be shipping 2 million Switch units worldwide during the launch. Hopefully, a lot of on-hand stock will be available for walk-in customers who were not able to pre-order.

In other news, a recent report from Forbes revealed that the Switch battery life lasts longer than the iPad Air and PlayStation Vita batteries. The test showed that the Switch lasted for 5.12 hours while the iPad Air and PS Vita lasted 4.04 hours and 5.01 hours, respectively. A complete list can is available in the report as well as a time-lapse video below.
