A 25-minute shooting spree in Orange County, C.A. left at least four dead and two others injured according to the Associated Press.

The search for the gunman ended when he shot himself in a stolen car as police officers were preparing to close in and make the arrest.

"The suspect shot and killed himself," Lt. Paul Garaven, of the Tustin Police Department, told the Orange County Register.

There were at least six crime scenes and three carjackings involved during the shooting, and a number of other victims that were shot at but were not harmed according to Tustin Lt. Paul Garaven.

The shootings started at around 4:45 a.m. when deputies responded to a call and found a female shot multiple times in a house in Ladera, Ranch according to Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino. The area is 30 miles south of Los Angeles.

From 5:30 a.m. until 5:55 a.m., police officers received a number of reports of shootings in several locations according to the Associated Press. The first call that came in was from Red Hill Ave. and Interstate 5. Once police arrived and concluded that a carjacking had occurred, the checked on the victim, who was not hurt. A bystander was shot by gunfire however and taken to a local hospital according to the Associated Press.

The following call was made from State Route 55 and McFadden Ave. Another carjacking occurred and that victim did die according to Garaven.

The last call reported was about a man with a gun who was at Edinger Ave. east of I-55. By the time an officer arrived, one person was shot dead and another was injured. Officers were able to find the man from that location and followed him.

The suspect was a male, though police officials could not confirm his age. The condition and identities of the victims have yet to be released. The motives for the shootings and if the gunman knew any of his victims also aren't currently known at this time.

"I do not believe any of the victims are related to each other. It might have been a random thing," Amormino said according to the Associated Press. "We just don't know."
