Vance Gulliksen, a Carnival spokesman, stated a bus got "sidelined" on the way to New Orleans after leaving Mobile, A.L. Another bus was available and those passengers who were on board were then transferred and brought to New Orleans where they reportedly arrived safely according to the Associated Press.

"It just feels so good to be on land again and to feel like I have options," said Tracey Farmer of Tulsa, Okla to The Windsor Star. "I'm just ready to see my family. It's been harder on them than us I think because they've been so worried about us. It's been extremely stressful for them."

The fire that disabled the ship caused many people onboard to lose power for many of the ships required facilities like kitchens and even bathrooms. Over 4,200 passengers and crew members on the ship were taken off by three tug boats and dropped off at Mobile, Alabama according to a report by The Los Angeles Times.

The report also claims that the Carnival line is offering to reimburse passengers for the cruise fare, transportation costs and over $500 each. All scheduled trips through April have been canceled.

"We know it has been a longer journey back than we anticipated at the beginning of the week under very challenging circumstances," Carnival President and CEO Gary Cahill said in a press statement. "We are very sorry for what our guests have had to endure."
