Virtual Console Confirmed "Not Ready" At Nintendo Switch Launch; Skyrim Switch Version Is Not That Special?

Nintendo Switch has been on top of the headlines since it was first introduced to the public with codename "NX." Many have their guess, predictions, rumors, and all other things that made Nintendo Switch such an exciting and highly anticipated console. Now that the Switch launch is down to its last two weeks, everyone expects great things for this hybrid console. But, there are things Nintendo has to ponder more and rely on future updates to get it resolved or going; one of which is the Virtual Console.

Back in the day when Nintendo is on its speculative peak, Virtual Console was a talk of the season. Many Nintendo fans look forward to its application in the Switch system. Other publication even dubbed its return as "Must Have" for the Switch to succeed. Today, Nintendo stated that information regarding the retro-focused Virtual Console system would be shared in the future. Apparently, this news caused many disappointments since it is believed to be a part of the Switch launch. Here's Nintendo's statement via Nintendo Life. "Virtual Console games will not be available on Nintendo Switch at launch. We will share more information in the future."

In other news, Bethesda's Skyrim Switch version is nothing special at all. According to an interview by Polygon with Todd Howard, the developer can't confirm if The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be the special edition of the game. Although Howard's statement is a bit of a cliffhanger, there is still a huge possibility it will be the exact prototype or an enhanced version of the original release back 2011.

It is interesting how developers and Nintendo leave such cliffhangers knowing the console is expected to launch on March 3rd. For those who are sure of getting and pre-ordered the console, there are a lot to be excited about. But, for those who doubt and unsure, Nintendo's strategy doesn't help the cause at all.
