Lamborghini introduced their new 2017 Lamborghini Centenario at 2016 Geneva Auto Show as a tribute to honor the 100th birthday of the company's founder, Ferruccio Lamborghini. However, only 20 coupe and 20 roadster models of the supercar will be produced, and 40 cars are already sold.
Lamborghini's President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann said, "The Centenario is a car that perfectly combines tradition and innovation. It looks to the future while honoring the legend that is Ferruccio Lamborghini." He added, "The Centenario is an opportunity for our designers and engineers to transcend some of the constraints of series car production to achieve an incomparable result: the Centenario has immediately proved itself as a desirable collectors' car while demonstrating new Lamborghini technologies and outstanding performance.
The 2017 Lamborghini Centenario is equipped with a 6.2-liter V12 engine that produces 770 horsepower. It develops 556kW of power and with rev limiter set to 8600rpm and makes the supercar's engine the most powerful engine ever produced by the automaker. The engine is also connected to all four wheel matched with a seven-speed semi-automatic independent shifting rod transmission.
The supercar measures 4.924m long and 1.143m high. Aerodynamics inlets that are made of several fins feature both front and back. Its body is built entirely of carbon fiber and weighs 1,520 kg.
On the inside, the supercar is equipped with luxurious interiors. It includes a sports seats in lightweight carbon fiber, new stitching that features on the length of the dashboard, sun visors, steering wheel, rocker covers, and the new inner door panels that are made of carbon fiber and Alcantara.
Other features also include a satellite navigation, an HD 10.1-inch touchscreen connects the drivers and the outside world. Users may browse the internet, connect to social and email, use online applications such as web radio, and Apple CarPlay.
The 2017 Lamborghini Centenario will be manufactured as a limited edition, with only 20 roadster and 20 coupes to be delivered from autumn 2016 and throughout this year. All of them are already sold out to collectors and Lamborghini enthusiasts all over the world at a start price of $1.9 million.
