The 2018 Lincoln Navigator is one of the most highly anticipated car models for this year. The new Ford Expedition, which the Navigator is expected to look like, was already spotted earlier this year. The Navigator will likely look like a more refined version of it and will be seen later this year.
According to Auto Blog, the Navigator has historically used the Ford Expedition's platform as its basis. The 2018 Ford Expedition recently turned heads at the Chicago Auto Show. The massive Ford full-size SUV will have a 3.5-liter EcoBoost bi-turbo V6 engine and is rumored to make up to 400 horsepower.
Based on the design of the new 2018 Ford Expedition, it is likely that the new Lincoln Navigator will look very similar to the concept released in 2016. The strong similarities between the Navigator concept and the 2018 Expedition, strongly suggest that the new Ford will be a preview of what's to come.
Both vehicles have nearly identical C-pillars. In addition, the character line running along the doors of both vehicles is also the same height. Both vehicles also have a subtle crease near the bottom of their doors. It is very likely that Lincoln will also use full-width taillights, a fender vent, and grilled treatment.
The Navigator is also expected to have the same 400-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. This is also what was available in the concept. Inside, the Navigator could have captain's chairs for every row, but again this is basing it on the concept only. In all likelihood, the captain's chairs may be an option for the second row.
The sad news is Auto Evolution reported that the gullwing doors from the concept will likely not be available in the production model. Additionally, the production Navigator can be seen later this year in a commercial starring Matthew McConaughey.
The 2018 Lincoln Navigator will hopefully be available soon and will be as magnificent as the new Expedition. According to sources, the new Navigator will likely come out by early 2018. What do you think about the new Navigator? Share your thoughts and comments below.
