However, it is not all positive for the Spider. It may have its advantages over its supposed twin, but it does have its misgivings. Unfortunately, the Fiat's laggy powertrain is one of its weaknesses. It comes 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine is capable of 160-horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Other vehicles of the same kind come packed with so much power that the Spider is sure to be fed by their dust.
As added by The Car Connection, the 2017 Fiat 124 Spider has been given a total score of 6.6 out of a possible 10 points. As earlier reported, it didn't do so well compared to its competitors because of its weak low-speed power. Also, though the trunk is bigger, the cabin is still relatively small for both the passenger and the driver.
The 2017 Fiat 124 Spider may not be one's ultimate sports car but it can serve its purpose especially if it all boils down to aesthetics. It is, after all, a sports car. However, it is one of the more affordable ones so it won't burn pockets like its competitors. For the untrained eye, the Spider may be considered an eye-candy. Just stay away from random racing competitions as the Spider will most likely be the last to reach the finish line.
