Aston Martin first introduced the DB11 in Geneva last year. The gorgeous grand tourer caught a lot of attention and was recently seen testing in Sweden.
Spy photos are available at Motor1 who also reported that the British automobile manufacturer first introduced the new DB11 last year in Geneva. The new car was recently seen testing with the DB11 Volante testing in Sweden. Several body tweaks in the pipeline were noted, despite the heavy camo.
The vehicle's front looks like it has a more aggressive design. It appears to have a larger grille and a prominent spoiler lip. It will also have a redesigned hood with a horizontal slant at its base. In addition, the gills of the hood will probably still make it to the final production car.
In addition, it appears the Aston Martin is also tweaking the vents in the front fenders, as well as giving the DB11 S a pair of larger side skirts. A massive diffuser is also apparent on the rear end. Similar to the DB11 Volante, the active rear spoiler remains erect at all times.
While it's still too early to tell, the new supercar is will allegedly have a bi-turbo 5.2-literV12 engine with over 600 horsepower. The interior also features a pair of Recaro bucket racing seats, but the production model may look different.
V8 Engine Option. Auto Car UK also reported that the future car model will also have a V8 engine option which will come from Mercedes-AMG. It will be based on the AMG GT "hot-vee" unit. It will produce around 525 bhp, which is 75 bhp less than the current V12 DB11.
The new V8 engine is part of a deal between Aston Martin and Mercedes that involves co-operating on powertrain development. Similarly, the new 2018 V8 Vantage will also feature the AMG unit. The new DB11 will also have Mercedes' electronic architecture and switchgear.
The new Aston Martin DB11 S will likely arrive in the second half of next year. What do you think about the new car? Share your thoughts and comments below.
