Sony Confirms God Of War 4 To Be Released On December 2017 For PS4? Voice Actor Confirmed!

God of War: Ascension was thought by many fans that it would be the last installment of the God of War series. But Sony made a big surprise by revealing a soft reboot of the series through God of War 4: A New Beginning.

The first PS4 announcement trailer was introduced during E3 2016, but only a few details have been revealed since then. Cory Barlog, the Creative director, already gave fans a general overview of the game's storyline.

In addition, the name of the protagonist's son was also revealed this year, and latest leaks of the game come in the form of a Tweet from Christopher Judge. Christopher Judge is now the official voice of Kratos. He tweeted: "I can now confirm I am Kratos #GodofWar4."

God of War 4 left its predecessor's ancient Greece setting for Nordic lands. Since the God of War 3 ended, Kratos has been living together with his son, Atreus. Barlog said that this might be the same Kratos as before, but he's a changed man now.

Barlog added: "Kratos believes that being a god is a disease, and that rage is a side effect of that disease, and he's terrified that he's passed it on to his son."  Kratos and Atreus relationship would be central to the game's gameplay and narrative mechanics. For the first time, Kratos is making an effort to control his anger so that his son can grow up to be a better man than him.

Even though Sony released no official announcement about the game's release date, several reports stated that God of War 4 is set to be released on December 29, 2017, for PS4 platforms. Amazon was cited as a source, but it's still unclear whether the said date will be the distribution date or the day the game goes live. But this is still a speculation, though.
