Just a few days after denying that Fall Out Boy was getting back together, bassist Pete Wentz has confirmed the multi-platinum rock group has reunited with a new album and tour on the way.
After going on hiatus in November 2009, Fall Out Boy announced details of their upcoming fifth studio album and a reunion tour that will start in their hometown of Chicago according to their website.

The group, which features Wentz, lead singer Patrick Stump, guitarist Joe Trohman, and drummer Andy Hurley, will be performing at Subterranean in Chicago on Feb. 4. Tickets sold out in five minutes according to The Chicago Tribune.
Their first new song since 2009's "Alpha Dog" titled "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em Up), is also now available on iTunes. The song has already reached number 10 on the U.S. and U.K. iTunes Charts.

"When we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music," FOB said in a statement announcing the album and tour. "It's why we started Fall Out Boy in the first place. This isn't a reunion because we never broke up. We needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us. The future of Fall Out Boy starts now. Save Rock And Roll."
Their fifth full-length album "Save Rock and Roll," will be released in stores on May 7. The new album marks the first new material since they released "Folie A Deux" in 2008, and comes 10 years after the release of their groundbreaking album "Take This To Your Grave" in 2003.
Rumors began to circulate around Jan. 25 when PropertyOfZack accurately reported that the band was reuniting. Shortly after the report made waves around the internet and people were only more confused after Trohman and Wentz both denied the news.
"People came out of the woodwork for a little bit," Wentz said Saturday of the reaction of his friends and family to the reunion rumor according to The Chicago Tribune. "But I feel like I'm so far removed. I'm no help. People asked 'Is this happening?' 'I'm not the person that can help you out."
During the hiatus, Stump released "Soul Punk" in Oct. 2011 and Wentz was busy with his electropop group Black Cards. Trohman and Hurley both played in other bands like The Damned Things according to Alternative Press magazine.
