Since its first reveal last summer, the Aston Martin AM-RB 001 details have been kept in wrapped to all interested buyers, and even the media. In collaboration with Red Bull Advanced Technologies, the Aston Martin AM-RB 001 promises optimum performance with 1,000 horsepower in 1:1 power to weight ratio. This accomplishment will not be achieved without the brains behind this marvelous engineering, and Aston Martin revealed them to everyone.
In order to push the performance boundaries, Aston Martin selected the best of the best to develop the ground-breaking hypercar AM-RB 001. The legendary Cosworth developed the AM-RB 001's beating heart exhibiting a high-reviving 6.5 liter, naturally-aspirated V12 engine. The AM-RB 001 will utilize Cosworth's Formula One and high-performance engine to produce more power out of the 001.
The AM-RB 001 seven-speed paddle shift transmission is designed and manufactured by Ricardo. The lightweight carbon fiber MonoCell is produced by Multimatic. The hybrid battery system is developed by Rimac, the Croatia-based company. Bosch will develop the AM-RB 001 ECU, traction control unit, and ESP, while Wipac covers the full-LED headlights and taillights.
Red Bull Racing's Chief Technical Officer, Adrian Newey cheered and proudly mentioned that the AM-RB 001 achieved greater performance through a massive team effort and the best people. He also added Experience, Creativity, Energy, Diligence, and Perfectionism are the key qualities incorporated in the hypercar.
"Making the AM-RB 001 presents huge challenges. It's a real test of everyone involved, but that's as it should be, for we're genuinely raising the bar with this car. That's what makes the project so special, and why having the right technical partners is so critical. Some of those names we're working with are long-standing suppliers of Aston Martin, but there are some new names in there, too," says David King, VP and Chief Special Officer.
The Aston Martin AM-RB 001 is expected to roll out 2019. Details regarding its exact weight and speed is not yet confirmed, nor provided. But, it is predicted to weigh 1,000 kg in order to achieve 1:1 ratio. This prediction could result to a top speed of 250 MPH, and 0-200 MPH in 10 seconds.
