Volkswagen unveiled their highly anticipated Super Bowl commercial this week on their official Volkswagen YouTube channel according to a company press release.

This is the fourth consecutive year the company has advertised during the Super Bowl, an occasion that usually costs companies millions of dollars in advertisement fees.
"The Big Game presents an unparalleled creative opportunity to represent the Volkswagen brand," said Tim Mahoney, Chief Product and Marketing Officer, Volkswagen of America, Inc. in the company press release. "We're excited to reveal this year's campaign, "Get In. Get Happy.", which is designed to bring a jolt of happiness to viewers' daily lives."
The Volkswagen 2013 commercial features a man who tries to cheer people up in a "dreary office" with a positive attitude and "inexplicable Caribbean accent" according to Volkswagen.
The 60-second commercial will build on the company's "human stories, told simply" campaign, like their "Smiles" commercial which premiered last September. Another one that fits that category is their "The Dog Strikes Back" commercial which aired during the 2012 Super Bowl and was named by Google as one of the top commercials of 2012.
"With 'Get Happy,' we set out to create a lighthearted and energetic ad to represent the positive energy and sunny disposition that only the Beetle and Volkswagen can deliver," said Mike Sheldon, CEO, Deutsch LA, Volkswagen of America's creative Agency of Record in the press release. "We are thrilled to bring the Volkswagen brand essence to life on America's biggest stage."
Volkswagen had teased their Super Bowl commercial on Jan. 24, which showed familiar musical acts singing with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff.
Cliff's latest album, "Rebirth", was nominated for a Grammy award a few months ago and was listed as one of the top albums of 2012 according to Rolling Stone magazine.
