AMD has recently announced that it will be holding a special Capsaicin live-streamed event at Game Developers Conference (GDC) on Feb. 28. Their live-stream will focus on graphics technology, and word is they may concentrate on their new Ryzen CPU and Vega GPU.
WCCF Tech reported that the special live-streamed event will focus on graphics technology at GDC on Feb. 28. While the company did not make any specific mention of Vega in its press release, the company has scheduled developer sessions at GDC to talk specifically about their latest GPU technologies and architecture. In addition, their engineers have also scheduled at least one session to discuss the new Ryzen CPUS.
Capsaicin & Cream Event. The Capsaicin Event will live stream on Feb. 28 at the GDC. During last year's event in March, Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. unveiled their unreleased Polaris graphics architecture. They gave several new details about the RX 400 series as well. This year, there is much talk about AMD doing the same thing with their Ryzen and Vega architectures.
Hot Hardware reported that it is very likely that Ryzen will also officially release on that day, as detailed in a previous report. The live stream will last for about an hour. At 10:00 AM - 10:30 AM, the doors will officially open and guests will be seated on a first serve basis.
At exactly 10:30 AM, the Capsaicin & Cream live stream will happen and will last for an hour. At 2:30 - 5:00 PM, there will be Cream developer sessions. At 7:30 PM until Midnight there will be a special VIP event after party to Ruby Skye where AMD will serve spicy dishes and ice cream while a guest DJ plays.
Vega GPUs are set to release in the second quarter of 2017 officially. A more comprehensive overview has been provided by WCCFTech here. Basically, the reports reveal that the new GPU will also have 14nm process nodes, 4096 stream processors, 12.5 TFLOLPS or 25 (FP16) TFLOPS, and 8 GB of HBM2 memory.
The latest AMD Vega GPU seems very exciting, especially since there are reports about it being faster than the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti. Regardless of whether or not the company will give us a peak at their new GPU, the live stream Capsaicin & Cream event will offer a lot of geeky fun and insights. Are you excited for the event?
