Jaguar’s engineers and design teams have set up to create a bespoke electric architecture, matched with dramatic design. The result is a five-seat sports car and a performance SUV in one.
The Standard reported that Jaguar decided to reveal their first electric vehicle with the help of virtual reality. The goal was to capture the hi-tech essence of the concept car. The world-first social VR show is the largest live and connected VR event of its type to date. The specially created life-like virtual space where two of the car’s creators, Ian Callum and Ian Hoban were projected was filled with more than three hundred guests.
Guests in other VR hubs in Los Angeles and London used HTC Vive Business Edition headsets that were powered by Dell Precision workstations to put themselves inside the concept car and interact live with other participants. All the guests had 360 views of Venice beach and saw the Jaguar’s first electric vehicle I-Pace Concept race towards them across a virtual desert.
This is the first time in history; a global automotive brand has used fully immersive VR to launch and promote their latest car. It allowed the people to be fully immersed within the vehicle and experience it on a different level. By embracing the cutting-edge technology available these days, Jaguar has created an experience rich and rewarding for its consumers.
According to Dezeen, Jaguar’s first electric vehicle the I-Pace is an SUV with space for five passengers. Jaguar claims that the car will be able to travel 310 miles on a single charge. It can accelerate from 0-62 miles in approximately 4 seconds.
Jaguar’s first electric vehicle I-Pace will be powered by a custom –designed battery pack that is located at the base of the car. It gives the vehicle a low center of gravity and more agile driving dynamics. The battery will need 2 hours to be charged to 100 percent. The interior of the I-Pace is made of premium materials and uncompromised attention to detail. The glass roof allows for panoramic sky views, and the two touch screens provide the best possible user experience.
