The North American International Auto Show begins in Detroit this coming week, opening to the public officially on Jan. 19.
Some companies have already revealed what new models they will be showcasing at the event, which will feature the return of the Chevrolet Corvette and new BMW 4-series concept according to the Associated Press.
Some other models people can expect to see at the NAIAS includes:
-Acura MDX concept
- Audi SQ5, R8 and RS5 convertible
- Bentley GT Speed convertible
- Cadillac ELR
- Honda urban SUV concept
- Lexus IS
- Lincoln MKC concept
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class
- Mini John Cooper Works Paceman
- Nissan Versa hatchback
- Tesla concept
- Toyota Furia concept
- Volkswagen Passat performance concept
Information and specs for each of these models haven't been released yet, but each company has confirmed they will do so at the NAIAS next week.
Fiat has also confirmed that two new Fiat 500 concepts will make an appearance at the show in Detroit. The first one is called the Tenebra, and the other is called the Cattiva. Both designs will join other new Fiat designs like the 2014 Fiat 500L and 2013 Fiat 500e according to the company.
Toyota is really hoping to make a splash as well at this year's NAIAS event. Toyota reportedly will have a 35,000-square-foot exhibit to show off at least 34 vehicles.
Detroit Mayor Dave Bing has said that the struggling city should benefit greatly from the upcoming auto show, and hopes the event serves as an inspiration to local citizens.
"This has been an unbelievable transformation," Bing said of the auto show and renovations at Detroit's Cobo Center, where the exhibition will be held according to USA Today. "Cobo is ready for the world, and pretty soon, Detroit is going to be, again, ready for the world."
