The BMW M3 pretty much defined what a sports sedan was. It was considered the ultimate sports sedan until the arrival of the Alfa Romero Giulia Quadrifoglio.
The BMW M3 vs. the Alfa Romero Giulia Quadrifoglio. The release of the Alfa Romero Giulia Quadrifoglio caused quite a commotion. Many were impressed by its Italian flare, massive power, and Nurburgring timing.
Comparing the Alfa to a standard BMW M3 wouldn't be much of an excitement. The standard F80 BMW M3 just doesn't compare to the Alfa as it is just too sloppy and does not live up to the reputation of BMW M3s.
The BMW M3 Competition Package, however, is a better rival to the Alfa. The Competition Package basically is what an M3 should be: sharper, more exciting and dynamic. In fact, it is able to take on the Cadillac and AMG with no problem at all.
When put head to head with each other, the M3 and Alfa seem to be evenly matched. The Alfa's 505-horsepower 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 engine is a lot more powerful than the M3's 444-horsepower 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight six. However, both vehicles can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in around 3.8 seconds and have rear-wheel drive systems. Both of the vehicles' gearboxes are automatic with a seven-speed DCT for the M3 and an eight-speed ZF for the Alfa.
The price on BMW M3 with automatic transmission is £59,100.00. Surprisingly, the Alfa is less expensive by £100.00 at £59,000.00.
Performance-wise, the M3 is an easier car to drive and maneuver. Its technology features are far more superior. The vehicle is ergonomically better and is suited for everyday use. However, the drive on the Alfa is more fun and responsive. Even it is faster by just a few seconds than the M3 on the racetrack the mere fact that the Alfa is able to provide an enjoyable driving experience is enough of a reason to give it the trophy.
