Sources reveal that "Red Dead Redemption 2's" online multiplayer will be a major focus. This was confirmed by Take-Two Interactive who recently did an Interactive Q3 Earnings Conference Call.

Take-Two Interactive is an American multinational publisher-distributor of video games. It wholly owns Rockstar Games and 2K Games.

The publisher did not go into much detail but its CEO, Strauss Zelnick, did confirm that there was much anticipation for the Wild West sequel. Moreover, he further added that Rockstar Games will announce more details about the game in the future.

The CEO did confirm that the original game's 2010 release was able to sell 8.5 million copies in its first year. All in all, it sold 15 million copies.

The original "RDR" is an open world Wild West action-adventure game developed and published by Rockstar. It was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in May 2010. The game is set in 1911 during the decline of the American frontier. It also featured an online multiplayer that was free-for-all and team-based with a maximum of 16 players per session. It was critically and universally acclaimed and was very successful overall.

RDR2 & GTA Online. There has been much talk about the "Red Dead Redemption 2" Online Multiplayer. When asked if RDR2 and GTA Online would co-exist, Zelnick responded that entertainment was neither a need nor a desire and avid fans would still try to get the best of both worlds.

In the past, there was some speculation about whether or not Rockstar Games would abandon Grand Theft Auto Online with the introduction of Red Dead Redemption 2. However, PlayStation Universe has confirmed that Rockstar would not abandon their "online cash cow." In addition, some diehard fans of GTA Online have reported lost interest in the game because of its shark card system which allows players to use real money for upgrades and game currency.

Take-Two has also confirmed the release date of "RDR2" to be in Fiscal 2018. This is anywhere between October 2017 and September 2018. However, the official trailer of the video game shows "Fall 2017."

"Red Dead Redemption 2" is likely to be released on October 2017 but could be pushed back until September 2018 based on Take-Two's latest announcements. Are you excited about the game? Are you worried that its online mode will be similar to GTA Online's? Thoughts and comments below.
