iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak Update: iPhone 4S, 5 Users Still Waiting, When To Expect It, Hackulous App Community Closes

Hackulous, one of the most popular jailbreak app stores has reportedly shut down for no apparent reason according to a report by Gizmag.com. The site and its app known as Apptrackr have officially been deleted, leaving fans wondering why the sudden departure without any notice?

The website claims in a statement that the "community has become stagnant" and that the forums have not been what they use to be and have been difficult to control as of late.

Experts believe the real reason is the lack of success developers have been having regarding the iOS 6 jailbreak. The operating system was officially released in September, and hackers still haven't been able to get through Apple's "toughest" security system yet.

An untethered jailbreak for devices like the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 now seems more like a dream where as at one point people thought it was a matter of days. The Chronic Dev team so far has been the only set of hackers to achieve any sort of success, after accomplishing a partial jailbreak in November. They've seemingly given up since then however as most feel that's the closest the team is going to get towards achieving anything with the current security system in place on the iPhone 5.

Last week it was reported by The International Business Times that a jailbreak wouldn't come for at least another six months for the iPhone 5. In an interview with a person who goes by the Twitter handle Pod2g, the report claims that Apple is simply making it too hard for hackers to break through their security systems and its only going to get worse.

"My message to Apple is the following: why not stop the fight and let users install unsigned applications, just like it is possible on OS X," said Pod2g according to The International Business Times. "It could be done the right way to let people install tweaks while making sure piracy is limited. I am convinced that it would allow iOS to gain market shares over Android."

This is bad news for Apple users, seeing as six months from now new Apple products could be released like the rumored iPhone 5s or iPhone 6, depending on the direction Apple wants to take. As it was reported today, Apple has been tested the next iPhone device and the iOS 7 system to prepare for the eventual launch which is now expected to come by the end of spring. The security system on the next Apple device is expected to be even harder to break through that the current OS.
