"Pokemon Sun and Moon" Global Mission is a success after only four days of going live. Players who participated were able to grab hold of the goal, with 10 days to spare. Nintendo has been intent on pushing players to participate with massive rewards for the failure of the first 2 Global Missions. What was different for the game's third attempt?
The task for the third Global Mission of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" was to trade 1 million Pokemon within the span of 14 days utilizing the Global Trade System (GTS). The Pokemon community rallied in and was determined on completing the task. And clearly, they did. The Pokemon's Reddit community was filled with threads that encouraged players to pitch in and help hit the goal.
Serebii.net tweeted last Feb. 3 that the Global Mission has succeeded and players are now on to the second milestone. The tweet indicated that players were able to beat the 1M goal by trading a total of 1,082,871 Pokemon.

By completing the third "Pokemon Sun and Moon" Global Mission, participating players get are rewarded with 2000 Festival Coins. These can be used in the online Festival Plaza mini-game feature.
Now that the end goal has been reached, the focus now is hitting the second milestone that requires players to beat the goal of 2 million Pokemon traded. They need to hit this by midnight of Feb. 14. By the looks of it, it seems this milestone is yet again going to be crushed, as the community is on hype.
If the 2 million end goal is hit, participating players are granted a Friend Ball. These are a special type of Pokeball that increases that happiness of any Pokemon captured using the ball, according to GameRant. For example, a wild Pokemon caught using the Friend Ball will become friendlier. This is a very useful thing for both the trainer and the Pokemon.
Looking back at the first two "Pokemon Sun and Moon" Global Missions, the first one tasked players to catch a total of 1 million Pokemon, collectively. However, by the time the mission ended, participating players failed as they were only able to capture a fifth of the required number.
Meanwhile, the second one required players to utilize the Island Scan feature in order to find, catch, and defeat 1 million Pokemon, collectively. By the time the deadline hit, they were only able to hit a little over 50 percent of the goal.
Polygon reports that possible issues with "Pokemon Sun and Moon" online Global Link feature caused the failures of the first two Global Missions. The game's website indicated that they have "investigated and addressed" this issue.
Third time's the charm for the success of the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" Global Mission. Nintendo's iconic game is now available for Nintendo 2DS and 3DS.
