If considering getting the Fujifilm X-T2, one might want to check first on the Mirrorless Fujifilm X-T20. Get most of the features for $700 less than the X-T2.
According to Engadget, Fujifilm X-T20, a successor to the popular X-T10 improves on it in nearly every way. The Mirrorless Fujifilm X-T20 comes with a 24.3-megapixel X-Trans III sensor, the same one used in X-T2. It will give the camera a lot of faster autofocus 0.06 seconds according to Fujifilm, and a shooting speed of 5.0 fps in live view. It also does 4K Video at up to 30 FPS, yet another feature taken from the Fujifilm X-T2. The button layout is the same on both models with the same 2.3milion dot OLED viewfinder as well. Other features included are built-in WiFi, various Fujifilm creative filters and support for all the APS-C X-mount Fujinon lenses which are considered to be some of the best on the market for that price.
So what is the difference between Fujifilm X-T20 and X-T2 that lowers the price? Digital Trends reported that compared to the Fujifilm X-T2, the X-T20 doesn’t have weather sealing and the mechanical shutter speed is only half as fast at a maximum of 1/4000, with a burst speed using a continuous autofocus of 5 fps instead of the X-T2’s 8fps. Also what’s missing is the dual tilting rear screen. The Fujifilm X-T20 sits between budged and pro level with the X-Titans sensor, a viewfinder, and 4K. Fujifilm’s film simulation algorithms work well with that 4K video as well as the still frames.
The Fujifilm X-T20 is set to retail for $900 body only in black or silver. For the 16-50mm lens as well the Fujifilm X-T20, it will cost $1000, but there is also an option for a brighter 18-55mm lens but that one costs $1200. Fujifilm also announced a new X-series 50mm prime lens. They’re better suited for the X-T2 as it has weather sealing. Fujifilm says the lens uses an inner focusing system for quick and quiet autofocus.
