Cons. The SUV has choppy ride quality compared to most crossovers. It is not ideal for everyday driving which is better suited for the Toyota Highlander. Its standard V6 is also a gas guzzler.
What's New? The 2017 4Runner has minimal changes. The previous Trail and Trail Premium models have been renamed to TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium. Additionally, the TRD Pro Series now comes in more colors.
Models. The 2017 Toyota 4Runner is available in 6 different models: SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, TRD Pro, and Limited. All models have a 4.0-liter V6 engine with 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. They all have five-speed AT and are capable of towing up to 5,000 pounds.
The SR5 and Limited models are both available in 4x4 and 4x2 configurations and have a third-row seating option. The other models are only available in 4x4 and seat five.
The base SR5 model features ski plates, fog lights, a backup camera, keyless entry, and power outlets. The TRD Off-Road adds a locking rear differential, wider wheels, and optional KDSS suspension.

The Limited models are the range toppers. They have Torsen center differentials for the 4x4 models plus other outstanding features like 20-inch wheels, a sunroof, and a premium audio system.
