The 2018 Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid that both runs on electricity and be driven efficiently with the motor aiding engine. The Panamera 4 E-Hybrid is second-generation of Porsche's hybrid powertrain. The car is incredibly powered by a lightning-quick 4.4 second and a ridiculous top speed of 172 mph.
The luxurious car has a 2.9-liter, twin turbocharged V-6 engine with 330 horsepower at 5,250-6500 rpm and 331 lb-ft of torque from 1,750-5,000 rpm with an electric motor rated at 136 horsepower and 295 lb-ft. The torque has channeled to all four wheels through a ZF-sourced eight-speed dual clutch automatic which is derived from the gearbox that uses conventionally powered all Panamera models. The hybrid Panamera could sprint to 62 mph in a claimed 4.4 seconds and it tops out at 172 mph.
The Panamera Coupe also features the Sports Chrono package which allows switching between E-Power, Sport, Sports Plus and Hybrid Auto setting through the rotary dial located beneath the right spoke of the steering wheel. The cars always start out in E-Power which means it would be running on electricity alone up to 86 mph which provided drivers to kick the throttle down past a catch in the pedal.
While in E-Power, there are two other modes such as E-Hold and E-charge. These modes create or save power for times when needed like when driving in emissions-free zones in city centers. The E-Hold helps to hold the level of battery charge and E-Charge would use the engine to charge the battery.
Supplying with a 14.1-kwh lithium-ion battery found in the trunk, it can charge in 12.5 hours on a standard 110-volt outlet. The owners can choose for the available 240-volt charge with its 7.2-watt capacity and with charging time of 2.4 hours. After all, the Panamera E-Hybrid is a great car which Panamera essentially marks the beginning of new era through efficient drivetrains, sporty designs and luxury features under the same roof.
