PlayStation VR now supports 360° YouTube Videos! Version 1.09 of YouTube now adds PSVR support, as confirmed by PlayStation Blog. PlayStation 4 and PSVR users can now watch their videos as though they were standing right there inside the video.
Sony PSVR. The Japanese gaming company's PSVR was officially released in October 2016. This was the world's first ever console-based virtual reality headset in the market.
The Japanese tech conglomerate released the PSVR package for only $399. This is inclusive of the system, headset, and cables. Sony also released a PlayStation Launch VR bundle for $499.99. The bundle contained the system, headset, cables, Move controllers, and a PlayStation camera.
The PlayStation VR has received some mixed criticism since its release. On the one hand, Sony loyalists are very happy with their PSVR's. On the other hand, many people criticize the few number of games available and the PSVR's lack of availability. It is currently sold out everywhere but is expected to restock next month.
Currently, only a handful of games are available on the PSVR. Titles such as Batman: Arkham VR, Star Wars: Battlefront, and Until Dawn: Rush of Blood are among the titles that are already available. Resident Evil will be launching tomorrow, Jan. 24 and Star Trek Bridge Crew will be released on Mar. 14.
PSVR + YouTube 360-Degree Support. As part of the YouTube PS4 app update, PSVR now supports 360° videos from YouTube. This update has already been officially released. PSVR owners can now watch their YouTube videos on either Cinema mode or full 360°.
