Sometime early next year, the new Chevrolet Spark and Sonic LTZ and RS vehicles will be released with a new partner in crime.
Apple's Siri intelligent assistant system will become a standard feature as part of the Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system to make things easier for drivers of each vehicle. The company made the announcement Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show and released more information in a company press release.
"It says a lot about our commitment to small-car customers that Chevrolet has announced that Siri Eyes Free capability will be available in the Spark and Sonic well before the luxury brands," said Cristi Landy, Chevrolet marketing director for small cars said in a press release. "Safe, easy, reliable and portable connectivity is a top priority for our customers, and Siri complements MyLink's existing capabilities to help deliver an incredible driving experience."

The MyLink infotainment system allows drivers to access many different features including their phones without having to worry about dialing or pressing buttons to send a text. With the announcement that Siri will be included in the vehicles, the company is one step closer to making driving a safer experience than it was just a few years ago.
To use Siri, all that's required is simply talking to the device. You can ask questions as simple as what the temperature is outside or use it to call or send a text message to a contact in your iPhone.
Other features that Sonic RS and Spark owners can access include playing songs from your iTunes library, accessing things you need to do that are listed on your calendar or appointments apps, or even adding items to both lists through Siri.
Both vehicles come with six months of OnStar's premium Directions and Connections service according to the press release. OnStar allows users to get speedy roadside assistance, vehicle diagnostics, and stolen vehicle assistance.
