iOS 6 Untethered Jailbreak Update: Unlock Revealed For iPhone 4S Users, iPhone 5 May Be Next (VIDEO)

A new video was posted yesterday claiming a jailbreak for the iPhone 4S was finally achieved and so far no one has been able to prove that the video is a fake. If it is indeed true, then developers may be closer than ever to creating an iOS 6 jailbreak for iPhone 5 devices.

A person who uses the Twitter handle @Mr_DuNh1II posted a video on his Twitter account of the iOS 6.0.1 jailbreak for the iPhone 4S to prove his work to those who may be skeptical. The hacker did say on his Twitter however that the jailbreaked iPhone 4S is still "having problems" and it could be a little while before a safe jailbreak is released to the public.

@Mr_DuNh1II hasn't revealed what kind of problems are still occurring but this still great news for Apple users. @Mr_DuNh1II is the founder of the ARB Dev Team which according to their Twitter is the Arab Dev Team that focuses on OSX and iOS 6. The team isn't very well known around the web but if they're indeed correct about the 4S jailbreak, then that may not be the case for long.

As you can see in the video, the 4S is shown working with iOS6 and Cydia which would mean that they have indeed accomplished a jailbreak for the Apple. The Twitter account also shows a photo revealing that they have been able to jailbreak an iPad as well.

The team claims that the iOS 6 jailbreak is tethered for any devices that come with an A6 process. This would essentially mean it could work for the iPhone 5 eventually.

Experts haven't been able to look into the success reported by the team yet, and many others have claimed to have achieved a jailbreak for the 4S and 5 phones before. So far though there haven't been "obvious signs" that it's just another dud according to Gotta Be Mobile.com.

The news comes just days after the Chronic Dev team released a statement that an untethered jailbreak for the iPhone 4S and 5 was not close and could be weeks, even months until they are able to achieve any kind of success. Chronic Dev team member Joshua Hill tweeted this week that the reason they haven't been able to achieve any success has been because of the protections in the iOS system.

If it does turn out to be true that the ARB Dev Team has actually achieved a jailbreak for the iPhone 4S, and the team is able to figure out all the problems they're dealing with right now, you can basically guarantee other hackers will work with the team to make sure the software is released publicly.
