The updated mustang will have a more aggressive look which includes new hood vents and an optional spoiler to top it. It will also offer a 12-inch digital cluster, new generation LED headlights and taillights available across all trim lines, and some other new features.
What's with 2018 Ford Mustang to watch out for? A lot!
Automotive news says, Ford Motor Co. is dropping its 3.7-liter V-6 engine, which, officials tell, account for roughly 15 percent of sales, in favor of the 2.3-liter EcoBoost and 5.0-liter V-8. An option with both engines is available for Ford's new 10-speed automatic transmission, which debuted in fall 2016 on the F-150.
Joe Hinrichs, Ford's president of the Americas told the Automotive news in a statement that the new Mustang is their best ever, based on more than 50 years as one of the iconic sports car in America and now, he added, the world.
Customers may choose from a dozen allow wheel designs. The car will come in three new colors, including a bright one called "Orange Fury." Designers lowered the hood by approximately 20 millimeters compared to the current model to make it look slimmer and more athletic. It will also come with an updated grille, front fascia, and new headlights.
Under the 2018 Ford Mustang hood is an upgraded traditional manual transmission - paired with the V-8 engine which is redesigned to include a twin-disc clutch and dual-mass flywheel for increased torque. The V-8 has also been upgraded which now includes direct injection and port fuel injection, which will increase fuel efficiency and horsepower ratings.
The new 10-speed automatic transmission will manage quicker shifts and improved acceleration, says Ford. Motor1 said Ford has worked with Michelin to fit the 2018 Mustang with all-new Pilot Super Sport 4 tires for the GT Performance Pack enthusiasts.
No word was said on pricing yet but a higher price is speculated for the 2018 Ford Mustang. The new pony will make its way to showrooms this fall.
