Fiat Chrysler Automobiles had been charged with a violation issued by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with respect to the Dodge Ram trucks and the Jeep SUVs for emissions violations. In fact, the company has been contesting the allegations at present just about the same time Ram Trucks Super Bowl commercial ad was featured at Super Bowl. Was this a cover up from the issue?
Boring And Predictable? The Super Bowl commercial was referred to by a car enthusiast as a boring one - that advertisement that did not bring something new to the Ram trucks table. According to Auto Blog, it was featured in the first commercial of the Super Bowl season. However, it was referred to as boring and predictable.
When the Super Bowl LI aired, the Ram trucks were featured in a commercial that showed the models to be strong and showed American culture played out with the vehicle. The first two previews of the show, the vehicle pulled a fallen tree that blocked the road. Next, a church was towed to its new location. The background played out a voice that discussed the model's assistance capabilities, its strength, and its endurance during such situations. Although it was deemed generally good, the reporter was not impressed with how generic the commercial went.
Other clips showed the Ram trucks to be a family-oriented vehicle. Despite the positive note, the reporter indicated that it the Super Bowl commercial lacked an emotional aspect to it and thought it to be forgettable.
The Issue. In other news, Equipment World reported that Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is currently facing an emissions violation which concerned the Ram trucks featured in the Super Bowl commercial. In fact, the FCA CARB, and California Air Resources Board issued the same violation to the FCA. It was revealed that Fiat Chrysler failed to disclose an engine management software that increased the emissions values of the vehicle.
While the company and the Ram Trucks were currently under scrutiny, was the Super Bowl commercial ad their way of redemption from having their brand pegged as untrustworthy? Was the commercial supposed to convince customers that the models were still reliable?
