As BlackBerry’s users already know, the company has stopped making smartphones when the Chinese manufacturer TCL bought their rights and now they are in charge for the smartphone brand. However, BlackBerry still hasn’t sold all their legal rights and they will continue to work on the software of the new phones. TCL recently teased the users with a BlackBerry phone on which they can spot the brand’s signature QWERTY keyboard.
According to Yahoo, Steve Cistulli who is the President and the general manager of TCL Communications shared a video on Twitter in which fans can see a brand new BlackBerry headset. After this four-second clip, fans started speculating that this headset might be the device codename as “Mercury.” Fans can’t see much from this teaser clip, but one thing is for sure, TCL is bringing BlackBerry with its famous QWERTY keyboard featuring fretted keys. With the QWERTY keyboard, people think TCL is planning to bring back a lot of BlackBerry’s standout feature. The last phone TCL released was all-touchscreen design. The upcoming smartphone will also run on Android OS.
The new BlackBerry smartphone will be revealed this week at CES 2017with an iconic keyboard. It is expected this o be the biggest surprise of CES 2017. It is believed that BlackBerry has taken most of the design from Apple and with the device showing the smooth rounded curved metal body, it is not that different from the iPhone 7. The smartphone will be launched at this week’s show, but BlackBerry is also holding a press conference on January 4, 2017, Express reported.
Despite the QWERTY keyboard, the new BlackBerry device will feature a 4.5-inch display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB RAM, incredible 18MP rear-facing camera with 8MP front camera and a 3.400mAh battery, International Business Times reported. The BlackBerry’s press conference will take place on January 4, 2017 at 11 am PST in Mandalay Bay, Level 2, Mandalay bay Ballroom F.
