The all-new third-generation Kia Picanto has been revealed online after a series of teaser shots offered a first glimpse of what was to come. The 2017 Kia Picanto takes cues from its bigger sibling, the Rio.
The all-new Picanto offers a sportier look and a more aggressive front end. It still retains the general themes and proportion of its predecessor, like the signature 'Tiger Nose' grill at the front with its slimmer LED-highlighted headlights merging into the grill.
Inside, the car promises high-tech comfort that was thoroughly overhauled with a new 'floating' display screen infotainment system that was said to come with some of the latest in car technology. Two horizontal vents can be seen below and additional tall vents appeared on both sides of the dashboard. To its side, it retained the current model's upward sweeping window line. The automaker has also rounded up the corners of their small hatchback and gave it C-shaped tail lights at the back end of the car. The overall length was retained at 3,595 mm, but wheelbase has been extended by 15 mm to a length of 2,400 mm.
As for trim and upholstery, the color palette is more vibrant than ever. Kia says the third-generation Picanto will also offer greater range of personalization with buyers able to choose from 11 exterior colors and a wide range of hues for the interior design.
Kia gave a lot of effort into redesigning this model as the seats are made larger. Minor modifications were also done. There are no details yet on the price of this model, however, people know that the Picanto is made for the masses and will not be released with a jaw-dropping price tag.
Kia is yet to announce details about the engine and transmission options as well, but according to speculations, it might get a 1.0-litre turbocharged option with a power rating of 99 horsepower. The official debut of 2017 Kia Picanto will take place at the Geneva International Motor Show.
