Actress and rapper Queen Latifah recently had her car stolen at a gas station in Atlanta. The 2015 Mercedes Benz S63 was being driven by someone else at the time.
Fulton County, Atlanta. Queen Latifah had her 2015 Mercedes Benz S63 stolen over the holidays. Robbers took the car at a Fulton County Shell station in Atlanta Georgia just a few days before Christmas.
Latifah's security guard was behind the wheel. He brought the vehicle to a gas station. Latifah was not there during the incident, sources revealed.
A white BMW pulled up beside the car while the security guard was pumping gas. The thieves exited the BMW and jumped into the Mercedes Benz's driver's seat and quickly sped away. There was a contract that was inside a Tumi bag inside the vehicle. The contract was the 42-year-old actress' main cause for concern.
The incident occurred on December 20 at the Shell gas station along Fulton Industrial Boulevard. This was not an isolated incident. There has been a crime trend of car theft in South Fulton County. Several South Fulton gas stations have had a 200 percent increase in car theft in the area, local sources have revealed. The district manager has reported installing surveillance cameras now closes the station down at 10:30 p.m.
Fulton County police officers were able to track down the vehicle. It was parked outside of an apartment complex on 500 Mcdaniels Street in Southwest Atlanta. Three males were near the vehicle, as well as a Dodge Charger and a white BMW.
Queen Latifah's real name is Dana Owens. This is the name that appears on the car's registration. Ms. Owens inspected the recovered vehicle and found lemonade and fruit punch bottles left behind, the police report said. There was no mention of whether or not the contract was still inside the vehicle. The Fulton County Police are still searching for those responsible for the car theft.
