There wasn't a model release for the franchise last year. However, it was recently announced that the Mirage will be back in the market by next year and will be under the GT label. In fact, the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage GT Hatchback will be a sub-compact vehicle which will be significantly smaller than its market competition.
Ford Fiesta vs Mitsubishi Mirage
Labeled as the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage GT Hatchback best-performing competition in the market, these two models had been deemed to be the best ones with three-cylinder engine option. With that, the difference between the two is that Ford has an EcoBoost 1.0L engine but that of the latter has 1.2LL. With respect to power, the Fiesta could run with 123hp and could generate 125lb. ft. of torque while the Mirage is at 74lb. ft. of torque and only has 78hp, reported Car and Driver.
The Upgrades
The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage GT Hatchback has also become heavier than its predecessor. In fact, it has a top trim level at 200lb lighter than the Spark and 500lb less than the Ford Fiesta. The Mirage still holds the best fuel-economy ratings at 37mpg city powered by a five-speed manual.
In other news, The Auto Channel reported that the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage GT Hatchback was taken for a test drive by Carey Russo who claimed the vehicle was space-efficient despite its puny make. With its four doors and cargo access, it was relatively comfortable and simple, per Russo.
Ride and Handling
Russo also claimed that the Mitsubishi Mirage GT Hatchback had better handling features with its torsion beam axle suspension. Although it was built for comfort and not for speed, the brake discs were likewise improved and the car's interior impressive due to its sound-proof feature.
The 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage GT Hatchback is available in the market with a base price of $16,495.
