Chevrolet will have the all-new 2014 Impala on display to the public at the State Fair of Texas this week.
Interested buyers of the new Impala will get a firsthand look at the car which has been said has an improved fuel economy over the car's other competitors due largely to the all-new valvetrain technology on the Ecotec 2.5L four-cylinder engine.
The five-passenger sedan will stick out to those that are used to the previous model with a new sculpted body, solid character lines and an extended wheelbase. Last year's Impala was the best-selling full-sized sedan in the U.S.
The 2014 version will be available with three different types of engines, which includes a light hybrid version that uses a 2.4-liter four combined with electrical assist and can get up to 35 miles per gallon on highways.
Interested buyers would also receive a look at the full range of safety technology and full speed-range cruise control with a radar technology to sense traffic in front of the car and will automatically adjust the speed.
Chevrolet's remodeled sedan uses an all-new Intake Valve Lift Control technology that allows variable intake valve lift, duration and timing over a wide range of engine operation. When the technology operates in low-lift mode, the engine pumps only the air it needs. The system switches to high-lift mode at higher speeds or under heavy loads, providing the full output capability of the engine.
"The 2014 Impala re-establishes this iconic Chevrolet nameplate as a design leader, with bold styling that will turn heads for years to come," said Mark Reuss, president of GM North America in a press release.
The announcement that the car would be on display in Texas comes days after news was spread that Chevy has decided to cut back the price of the Chevrolet Volt drastically to help sales figures go up.
Chevrolet has not announced pricing for the new Impala, which goes on sale early next year.
The State Fair of Texas is being held on September 28 through October 21.
