The forthcoming "Assassin's Creed Empire", expected to be released in 2017, might just do better compared to the poor ratings of its predecessors, "Assassin's Creed Syndicate" and "Assassin's Creed Unity".
Ubisoft is making an attempt to overhaul the known series once more. It also managed to upbeat the anticipation for Empire with teasers that gamers were surely looking forward to.
Rumors began with a 4Chan poster, whose owner claims to be a Ubisoft employee. As dubious as that might have sounded, it was later backed up with information gathered by Kotaku --- a site notorious for its fair share of extremely accurate Assassin's Creed leaks.
Allegedly, Assassin's Creed Empire will be set in Egypt --- back when Egyptians started building pyramids. The whole Assassins brand have previously been to America, Asia, Europe, and even the Far East.
Of course, just like what Ubisoft did with "Unity", it could all just be a misdirection. Previously in "Black Flag", on the walls at Abstergo, a statement was made on how ninjas and cowboys were bad ideas for future releases. Rumors then ran wild, expecting an era of ancient Japan to Civil War-era United States, before Ubisoft revealed that the game would take place during the French Revolution.
Also, there was an announcement of a new character debuting into the game. The unnamed character is said to be a slave in ancient Egypt who trained in the dark trade of assassination, according to the Digital Spy. In addition, there's been an interesting leak that this new hero has an eagle pet that grants him eagle vision.
When asked about details on Assassin's CreedEmpire during Ubisoft's earnings call in September 2016, CEO Yves Guillemot said, "We can't say much about that yet. We are working hard on this game, and it will be launched when ready."
Ubisoft's CFO Alain Martinez added, "And it's a great game; looking good."
