"Deadpool 2" has a new director and it got all the fans worried. The internet world was recently abuzz with online chatter when news broke out that director Tim Miller quit as director for "Deadpool 2". It seems creative differences might have had something to do with the parting of two very good friends who disagreed on which direction the sequel will go into, further delaying its production.
"Deadpool" enjoyed phenomenal success when it opened last February as audiences catched on quick with its black comedy antihero plot. As early as February, just after its opening, Fox already gave the green light for a sequel to begin filming in early 2017, with Tim Miller still directing. However, just last Friday, Tim Miller announced his departure as director of "Deadpool 2". Studio executives downplayed his exit as "amicable", although there were talks that Reynolds and Miller have had a strained relationship since Deadpool was released.
It was revealed that they had a disagreement on which characters would play Cable and Domino. Miller also wanted more of a stylized sequel, while Reynolds wanted to focus more on the raunchy, comedy style that was so successful in the first film, according to The Wrap.
Fans need not worry though as news just came out that David Leitch is offered to direct "Deadpool 2" after a meeting with Ryan Reynolds in New York. Leitch is an actor and a stuntman who has had roles in The Matrix Trilogy. He was also a stunt double for Brad Pitt and Jean-Claude Van Damme. The fast-paced action of his directorial debut in the Keanu Reeves-starrer, John Wick, highly impressed Ryan Reynolds that he immediately considered Leitch when Tim Miller left. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who wrote the original film, are also returning to script the sequel, as reported by NME.
With this development, we can expect more explosive action sequences on the scenes of "Deadpool 2" --- together with the Marvel character's signature vulgar sense of humor.
