To the consternation of video gaming fans in North America and Europe, Atlus USA has announced that "Persona 5" will be delayed further until April 2017 next year. The long running RPG game, which was already released in Japan, is facing difficulties with translating to English-speaking audio due to the sheer size of its content.
Atlus USA's localization team underestimated the workload after it was decided "Persona 5" will be given dual-audio instead of the initially planned voice-over sequence. Fans of the game who had eagerly anticipated the release of "Persona 5", took to Twitter to voice their disappointment. Understandably, the last time Persona 4 was released was back in 2008 on the Playstation 2 console. That's a waiting period of exactly nine years, give or take a couple of months.
While "Persona 5" was supposed to be released on the Playstation 3 back in 2014 yet, a last-minute decision by Atlus to include the game on the Playstation 4 further delayed its release. To appease its fans, Atlus has announced it will release free DLC to the North American and European version of the game. With it, players will be able to switch between the English and Japanese audio of the game, Tech Times reported.
Another bit of good news is that Atlus is unlocking a premium Playstation 4 theme for free, plus an exclusive Ryuji Sakamoto avatar set. Only thing is, it will only be available in North America for the next 24 hours and in Europe on November 24, according to GameRant.
By all indications, "Persona 5"promises to be an excellent game well worth the wait. In just three weeks after its release in Japan last September, it became a best-seller, netting over half a million in sales in just a short span of time. Parent company Sega has every reason to be happy about it.
"Persona 5" will be released on Playstation 3 and Playstation 4 on April 4, 2017.
