Supercars have always fascinated us. There's always something about exotic-looking cars that make all men swoon as if seeing a high school crush and falling in love for the first time. With that in mind, Rezvani Motors want to take the supercar allure to the next level by introducing a new and exciting door design on its 500-hp Rezvani Beast Alpha.
For car enthusiasts like us, conventional-opening doors are pretty boring, something reserved for the family car whose usual trip consists of dropping off the kids in school and going to the grocery store. Exotic cars' doors are supposed to have the seduction of the Mercedes Benz gull-wing doors, the Lamborghini scissor doors and the Koenigsegg's upwards-rotating doors. Rezvani wants to take that a step further by introducing the wild and crazy idea called Sidewinder Doors.
The Rezvani Beast Alpha has doors that swing forward when you open them. It uses an oversized hinge that pivots and swings gently forward which actually makes the car look even sexier. While it requires less space on the side of the car than conventional hinged doors, it does require a decent amount of clearance on the side. A high curb on the sidewalk can potentially be an obstacle, according to Jalopnik.
The Rezvani Beast Alpha has a carbon-fiber construction and aluminum chassis to keep the weight down to 1950 lbs. Its supercharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine, sourced from Honda's Acura platform, gives it a boost of 500 horsepower. Paired with a six-speed manual transmission, the lightweight Rezvani Beast Alpha needs only 3.5 seconds to hit 60 mph. Opt for automatic, and you get there in three tenths of a second quicker, R&T has confirmed.
Inside, the Rezvani Beast Alpha is built for creature comforts. Everything is wrapped in leather and basic amenities like airbags, power windows and air conditioning come standard. There's even Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. Basic price is $200,000, but everything is worth it, including the head turning sidewinder doors.
