Samsung's Galaxy J3 hit the store shelves last year and it was followed up with an augmented Galaxy J3 Pro earlier this year. Now, a recently surfaced leak suggests that the successor Galaxy J3 (2017) is in the offing.

The Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) has been spotted in benchmarks and FCC databases quite a few a times now, teasing an imminent launch. Thanks to reliable tech tipster Evan Blass, who shared a press render of the purported smartphone, it looks like Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) release date could be as early as Dec. 1, as that's the date displayed on the home screen widget.

Besides, considering the fact that the J3 (2016) was released in January, a December announcement of its upgraded successor is not inconceivable.

Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) Specs & Features

In terms of design, the Galaxy J3 (2017) follows the pattern identical to rest of Samsung's low-budgeted Galaxy smartphones.

The device sports a capsule-shaped Home Button at the bottom of the display, and capacitive navigation buttons on either side. While the power button is placed on the right edge, the volume buttons are accommodated on the left edge, according to Gadgets 360.

According to the leaked benchmarks, the impending Galaxy J3 refresh will have a 5-inch display coupled with either HD (720p) or FHD (1080p) resolution. In fact, it will be hardly surprising if the Korean tech firm rolls out two variants of the Galaxy J3 (2017) sporting different displays if the leak proved to be true.

Blass noted that the leaked press render is basically from the regular SM-J327P model, and not SM-J3119, which will designate the J3 Pro.

Under the hood, the Galaxy J3 (2017) will be powered by a 4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and will come with 2GB of RAM, Phone Arena reported.

Moreover, the 5-incher will sport an 8MP rear camera and pack a robust 2,600 mAh battery. It will be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but currently, there's no word regarding a future Nougat update. In addition, Samsung's new UX will be in the offing.
