"Pokemon Sun And Moon" Players Using Unofficial ROMs happy days had come to an end when Nintendo decided to drop the ban hammer on them. Nintendo had done so by having Pokemon Sun And Moon Players who are using pirated copies of the game to be barred from accessing the online network of the game.
Unfortunately for them, the restriction is quite severe, as not only the ban isn't only limited to the online services within the game, but other 3DS online services are actually affected as well.
"Pokemon Sun And Moon" Players Using Unofficial ROMs who had experienced the ban encountered an error code 002-0102 notification anytime they try to do any online related services not just within the game, such as visiting the eShop. This is based on several reports as posted in Siliconera. The error code doesn't even provide any specific details, it just directs the banned players directly to Nintendo's customer service.
Data from "Pokemon Sun And Moon" had started to leak around early this November, weeks before the game's launching, due to diligent datamining by some. Illegal copies are then uploaded around the internet. According to some, it was actually possible to avoid the ban despite playing the hacked copy of the game in 3DS simply by not logging in or using any online features at the time.
Nintendo had already officially released a statement regarding the issue, according to BGR. However, there is still no official word from Nintendo yet how long it would take for the ban to get uplifted, as the ban is least likely going to be a permanent ban, or would just stick to blocking the online services of the illegal copies.
"Pokemon Sun And Moon" Players Using Unofficial ROMs are better off playing with a legitimate copy of the game, which would be out by November 18 worldwide, except for those in Europe who should just wait a bit until the 23rd.
