Ever since the virtual reality-based game, Pokemon Go was released worldwide, it had a huge number of players from across the globe. There's something about catching everyone's favorite fictional Pokemon; this made the game undeniably popular. But the game set another record last Halloween when players managed to catch about 1.3 billion of ghost Pokemons, according to Siliconera.
Pokemon Go is a mixed of virtual reality and actual GPS mapping enabling players to merge the game to his or her current location. "Pokémon GO allows you to find and catch more than a hundred species of Pokémon as you explore your surroundings," said a Pokemon Go official in a statement.
The huge number of ghost Pokemons were caught during a Halloween event based on the latest tally on the number of ghost-types Pokemons, according to Hof Mag. But the number isn't very surprising, as Niantic actually accelerated the spawn rate during the event to entice more players in joining the event.
During the Halloween event, the emergence of ghost-type Pokemons was increased populated by Ghastly, who players claim was the most seen and easily caught during the event. Next to Ghastly, Cubone and Drowzee were also popular monsters who appeared during the Halloween Pokemon Go convention.
To make the event even more interesting, nine Pokémons were released by Niantic during the celebration that was only valid for the duration of the event. So the players had to be quick in catching their favorite characters as most of these rare type Pokemons will not easily appear, thus making it harder to catch after the Halloween event is over.
But some claim that the astrological number of ghost-type Pokemons caught cannot be easily justified and quantified because there is no evidence to or figures to justify the tally of 1.3 billion. Nevertheless, Pokemon Go fans and players believe that the number is actually attainable given the swarm of players who joined the event and the rate Pokemon's were released and caught. For true blue Pokemon GO fans, no number is too high because they're taking the show's battle cry 'gotta catch them all' by heart. And with fellow fanatics in one venue, catching a billion Pokemons might just be possible.
