While Rockstar Games has had its hands full with the announcement of "Red Dead Redemption 2," avid "GTA" fans have been waiting restlessly for the game developer to shed more light on "GTA 6" release date.
Rumor mills have been churning bevies of speculations around the highly anticipated "GTA 6" hinting that it will hit the store shelves in 2018 or 2020, with a female protagonist and brand new location.
'GTA 6' Release Date
Citing the release pattern followed by Rockstar Games, some pundits hazard a guess that the next "GTA" title will make an appearance in 2018. This speculation stems from the fact that the previous 2 "GTA" games were launched 5 years apart. While "GTA 4" was released in 2008, "GTA 5" hit the stores in 2013. Basically, a 2018 release date for "GTA 6" seems a safe guess.
Much to the dismay of "GTA" fans, Rockstar decided to announce "Red Dead Redemption 2" instead, while refraining from spilling the beans about "GTA 6." Avid gamers should bear in mind that Rockstar Games has a history of taking a long time to release their game titles.
'GTA 6' Location
Its no secret that location and setting are important aspects of the "GTA" games. With that in mind, it is imperative for Rockstar Games to pick "GTA's" next setting very cautiously. Given the fact that there is already a "Grand Theft Auto: London 1969," there is a possibility that the next setting would be in the UK, according to NeuroGadget.
That being said, "GTA 6" could be set in another country such as Japan or Chicago. There's hearsay that "GTA 6" would boast an 80s vibe complete with a retro culture and vintage cars.
Meanwhile, the game publisher's president Leslie Benzies has hinted that the company has began work on the initial stages of the "GTA 6's" development. However, where the game is going to be set is a pivotal question, Benzies noted in an interview with the Develop (via KnowYourMobile).Locations defines the missions.
