Audi announced October 25, 2016, that its 2017 A3 sedan and cabriolet models are now available with a more powerful and fuel efficient 2.0-Liter TSFI engine, offering a 29 mpg combined EPA estimated fuel economy which gives shoppers an excellent high performance and fuel efficient driving experience.
The front-wheel drive models have received a new seven-speed S Tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission in place of the previous six-speed. The new 2017 A3 2.0T, which is also used in the efficiency-focused 2017 Audi A4 ultra, delivers 186 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque which is a 16 horsepower and a 21 pound-feet of torque increase over the previous A3 1.8T.
The 2017 Audi A3 sedan's 2.0-liter engine replaced the 1.8-liter engine that offered on A3 front-wheel drive models. The new 2.0-liter engine offers increased performance, comfort, driving dynamics and the efficiency which is expected of a sedan. The Audi A3 sprints from zero to 60 mph in 6.6 seconds, this is a 0.6 reduction when compared to the previous model.
In order to increase engine efficiency, the A3 sedan and cabriolet 2.0T engine utilizes a combustion method which has shorter compression and longer expansion phases. The ratio was increased to 11.7:1 from 9.6:1, this further improved the engine's efficiency and allowed for greater power and torque delivery.The 2017 Audi A3 sedan is also featured with all-wheel drive and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
The 2017 Audi A3 Sedan and cabriolet has a more sportier appearance when compared with the previous genaration sedan, its exterior features includes a new headlight design, updated design cues such as all-new front fascia with a wider single frame grille. It also features leather seating surfaces, dual-zone automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof on the sedan, xenon plus front lighting with LED daytime running headlights and LED taillights.
It is reported by KKB that Audi has released pricing information for the new 2.0T front-drive A3s. The 2017 A3 Sedan FWD sells at $31,200 in Premium trim, Premium Plus version at $34,450 and the Prestige variant sells at $40,150. The 2017 A3 2.0T Cabriolet FWD sells at $37,600 for Premium trim, $40,850 for premium Plus and Prestige trims sells at $40,850 and then the prestige variant at $46,550. Prices stated above do not include destination charge ($950), taxes, title, options, and dealer charges. Dealer sets actual price, according to Audi USA.
