Henrik Fisker has revealed the first images and the first details of its new electric car, which you can see in the video below. The new model is the first result of their new venture, again under its own name and logo .
Tough Time But, At Last, EMotion is here
In 2014, Fisker Automotive became Fisker Inc thanks to the company Wanxiang America Corp. Thanks to the capital given by the latter company, Fisker had endured the scourge of the industry and introduce the Fisker Karma, presented in 2008 at the Detroit Motor Show. However, it has not enjoyed the acceptance that everyone expected, having less luck than the other competitors despite being one of the forerunners of this era of plug-in hybrids.
But instead of surrendering the company has worked hard to launch a replacement for the Karma. It is now called Fisker EMotion and comes with an equally futuristic image and a technology that is positioned at the forefront. Fisker is in the final development of the EMotion, according to The Verge. Fisker has not revealed many details about this new car but it is believed that funding comes from India, country of origin of his new wife.
Tesla Model S Beware
The Henrik Fisher EMotion is set to be the perfect rival for the Tesla Model S as designers said that a new technology of battery has been deployed to increase the energy density and reduce weight. From what is seen in the first images, the new electric sedan offers an attractive and suggestive forms, which makes people think that this is a concept rather than the final production version. However, one can recognize some of the features of the new model as characteristic of Henrik Fisker electric cars already seen in previous works of the designer.
The sharp frontal and the smooth curves that draw the silhouette of EMotion is reminiscent of the extinct Fisker Karma. While many air inlets and the nose is similar to those of the models created by Fisker with GAS (Galpin Auto Service).
The new eMotion is made on a frame of carbon fiber and aluminum , and as mentioned above, the batteries have used graphene, one of the latest advances in battery technology. These have been developed by a joint venture between the designer and Nanotech Energy Inc . Promising a range around 400 miles, which come to be just over 640 km of range, according to Green Car Reports.
Another detail that has been revealed is the announcement of the incorporation of a new autonomous driving system. This system would not be developed by Fisker itself but by an external provider, which has not been revealed at the moment but is said to be as good as Tesla Model S full self-driving capability.
The new Fisker EMotion should be publicly presented next year. Meanwhile, watch the teaser photos below:
