Following a series of teasing online, it has finally been revealed that actor Stephen Merchant net worth will be playing the role of Caliban in the third Wolverine movie.
This was revealed by "Logan" director James Mangold through social media website Twitter. In his post, Mangold tweeted a close-up profile shot of Caliban. Though it did not explicitly reveal anything other than the type of camera and the lighting settings that were used for the photo, netizens quickly knew then and there that it was indeed the mutant.
The involvement of Stephen Merchant net worth in the movie was further confirmed when the actor retweeted the photo a few hours after Mangold's post. He also posted another photo of Caliban in Instagram where he is seen wearing a cowboy hat and covered in a mask.
According to MovieWeb, Caliban will be an important supporting role particularly in looking after Professor X whose health is deteriorating in the movie. Merchant's character will assist Logan (Hugh Jackman) in dealing with this turmoil.
Caliban is a recurring character in X-Men reboot series. He was last seen in X-Men: Apocalypse released earlier this year and was portrayed by actor Tómas Lemarquis
Merchant's participation in the movie is one of the many juicy details regarding 'Logan' that are slowly revealed to the public, according to Screen Rant. Other snippets include Wolverine trying to protect his alleged daughter X-23 from harm. The movie will also be set in 2024 wherein the mutant population continues to decrease.
The "Logan" movie will also be based on the Old Logan story arc. This means that it will feature an aging Wolverine whose mutant powers (including regeneration) are starting to deteriorate. Logan might even be portrayed as a coping alcoholic in relation to the story.
Logan is the third X-Men movie to feature Wolverine as its lead, following 2009's "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" and 2013's "The Wolverine." Scheduled release for the Hugh Jackman and Stephen Merchant net worth starring movie is on March 3, 2017.
