"The Transformers" seemed to have a run for their money as a true-to-life BMW 3 series car emerged as an Autobot in Turkey. A YouTube video revealed that the remote-controlled car had a custom license plate that indicated the mastermind behind the genius transformation. Will the robot be able to fight like those seen in the films?
The E90-generation BMW 3 Series was featured as a transformable into a humanoid-bodied robot in Turkey just this week that showed "The Transformers" may have a true-to-life version.
How The BMW 3 Series Transformed Into A Robot
As reported by Motor Trend, the project was revealed in Turkey. At first, the BMW 3 Series automobile was controlled by a remote. It drove naturally through the concrete and abruptly stopped in front of the controller. In a matter of minutes, the front fenders and its doors started to depart from the car's usual form, the doors extending outwards and the front end climbed up to form the body.
Afterwards, the other half of the car erected and went down to form the robot's chest. It was then evident that the vehicle was turning into a humanoid façade. The head then began to form as the arms slowly slid down into position.
It was apparent that the vehicle was highly modified to be able to perform such tasks. In fact, the fingers showed that it was gripping a laser rifle or a sword-like metal like the ones Optimus Prime utilized in "The Transformers" movie.
In other news, Auto Blog reported that the BMW 3 series coupe was a product of the Letvision group. In fact, the video itself was published on the company's YouTube channel. The car also showed a customized plate that read "Letrons," a clear indication that the German company was behind the dexterity of the machine.
The Makers
According to the report, Letrons is one of a series of prototypes that the company wished to feature in the coming months. In fact, it was revealed that Biznut, a tribute to Optimus Prime, Wolfram, Argon, and Tantal will soon make their debut as car-to-robot transforming vehicles.
