Actor and filmmaker Sage Stallone was found dead in his Hollywood Hills home yesterday. He was 36, and the son of Sylvester Stallone.
His lawyer, George Braunstein, told E! News that the body was found by Sage Stallone's housekeeper, who had been asked to check on him by his mother after she had been unable to contact him.
Braunstein said that Stallone had uploaded photos to his Facebook page about seventeen hours before his body was found. E! News also reports that, according to the police, there were no signs of foul play.
Braunstein has told several news outlets that Sage Stallone was not a drinker or a drug user, and had shown no signs of depression.
Radar Online reports that an autopsy could be performed as early as Sunday, and that prescription pill bottles - and no suicide note - were found at the scene. The website also reports that toxicology reports could take several weeks to return results.
Stallone was born in 1976, one of two sons of Sylvester Stallone and photographer Sasha Czack. His parents divorced in 1985.
He made his acting debut as his father's movie son in 1990's Rocky V, and also appeared with his father in the 1996 disaster film Daylight. He reportedly turned down the opportunity to reprise his role as Rocky Balboa, Jr in 2006 Rocky Balboa because of scheduling conflicts.
His acting, producing, directing, and writing career was confined primarily to small, independent productions. He directed the documentary Alan Yates and the short film Vic, which he also wrote, acted in, and produced. His mother too appeared in the film.
In 1996, he cofounded Grindhouse Releasing with high-profile film editor Bob Murawski. The company's website describes it as "dedicated to the restoration of motion pictures historically held in very low regard", with emphasis on Italian exploitation films of the 1970s and 80s.
