Hertz Introduces Porsche Rentals

The Hertz Corporation touted itself today to include Porsches in its fleet.

Beginning this month, customers in select markets (California, Florida, and Nevada) will be allowed to rent a limited number of Panamera sport sedans from the "Hertz Prestige Collection".

"Hertz revolutionized the industry when we introduced make and model reservable cars through our Prestige Collection and we're now excited to be the first major rental car company in the US to rent Porsche sports cars," Hertz CEO Mark P. Frissora, Hertz said in a statement. "With the introduction of Porsche vehicles to the US car rental industry, we're once again setting the bar in offering top-performing luxury cars and we're confident the Porsche Panamera will provide a unique driving experience for customers who are passionate about high-end performance vehicles."

Rates for the Panamera will begin at $250 a day.

Editor's Update: Hertz has clarified on Wednesday, July 11 that the company is "the only national car rental company that has a direct marketing relationship in the U.S. with Porsche Cars North America." Enterprise offers “The Exotic Car Collection by Enterprise,” which has Porsche coupes, convertibles, SUVs, and sedans. Enterprise has been offering and continues to offer Porsche models for five years.
