“The Avengers” was a huge success in the box office, and DC Comics is ready to challenge Marvel’s superheroes with their own.
According to recent reports from Variety, Warner Bros. hired “Gangster Squad” writer Will Beall to write the script for “Justice League” movie, hoping to screen it next year.
Justice League is a crossover superhero team with DC Comics characters. The original line-up includes Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and Martian Manhunter. Several new characters have been introduced later, including Captain Marvel, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl.
We don’t know exactly who will appear in the “Justice League” movie, but they better be able to match the line-up of “The Avengers” movie of Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Hulk.
Warner Bros. had been reported to work on producing a Justice League movie back in 2008 but had to halt the process due to the strike of Guild of America. In the mean time, they were busy producing other superhero movies, such as the Dark Knight and Green Lantern.
If the rumors hold true and the Justice League appears on the screen next year, could it beat the $207 million opening weekend record set by The Avengers?
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is opening the batman movie Dark Knight Rises later this month.
