These days the relationsip between cars and touring music artists goes well beyond broken down vans and luxury touring buses.

The long-running Vans Warped Tour, a showcase for a wide variety of alternative rock music acts, is being sponsored by Kia for its fifth consectutive year.  And this year, Kia will be the official sponsorforf two of the tour's main stages: the Kia Soul Stage and the Kia Rio Stage.

The tour kicked off June 16 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and for the next month and a half, these two Kia-sponsored stages will feature performances from the likes of Taking Back Sunday, Rise Against, The Used and Yellowcard.

Warped Tour attendees may also visit the Kia Soul Lounge: an interactive tent featuring a DJ, body paint sessions, autograph sessions and a Create Your Own Beat music station.  Festival attendees may also find information about Kia's new line of vehicles, including the 2013 Kia Soul.

Meanwhile, the tenth incarnation of the Honda Civic tour will kick of Aug. 11 in Bristow, VA, and will feature the alternative rock megastars Linkin Park and Incubus.  The festival began with blink-12 in 2001, and has run steadily ever since, though with one cancellation in 2009.

Each year the headlining band or bands customize a Honda Civic to be raffled off.
